You have a wide variety of dress options to choose from, from the basic shape
of the gown to neckline,
sleeve
shape, skirt shape,
train and
fabrics.
You will also want to consider accessories such as a headpiece,
gloves, and a small bag. As with other aspects of the wedding, you will want to
take into account your intended wedding
style when choosing your gown and accessories.
Types of Gowns
A-Line: tapered or tight-fitting bodice, close fitting waist
slowly tapering to a flared hem.
Antebellum: tight-fitting bodice, natural waistline that dips
down two inches to a point in center front.
Asymmetrical: fabric falls to one side from the waistline.
Ballgown: off-the-shoulder bodice, natural waistline, full
skirt.
Blouson: drooping fullness in fabric from bodice to waist,
gathered at or below waist.
Bustle Back: exaggerated fullness in rear of skirt.
Drop Waist: loose, tapered or fitted bodice, waistline drops
several inches below natural waist.
Empire: small, scooped bodice gathering at a high waist with
slim yet full skirt.
PrincessSlim-fitting bodice and skirt, vertical seams flowing
from shoulder to hem.
Sheath: Narrow, body-hugging, no waist.
