Wedding Dress Skirt Styles

Along with other aspects of your wedding gown, you have a number of options for the shape of your wedding dress skirt. Following is a list to help you decide on the shape most flattering to your figure.

Belle: Circular cut, full, usually longer length.

Bouffant: Very full, puffed-out.

Dirndl: Gathered skirt, not paricularly full, tight waistband.

Full: Gathered, less full than bouffant.

Hoop: Underskirt stiffened with circular hoops made of boning.

Peplum: Short flounce or overskirt attached at waistline.

Shirred Waist: Fabric gathered to make horizontal panel at waistline.

Tiered: Series of layered panels falling in graduated lengths.

Trumpet: Tapers close to legs, flares at or below knee.
