At-Home Cards
At-home cards are another piece that may be included with the invitation or
wedding announcement. These provide your new address after the wedding and the
date after which you will be living there.
Wording
The wording for the at-home cards depends on whether they are included with
the invitation or with the wedding announcement. If sent with the invitation,
the names are not shown, only "At Home", followed by the new address and the
date after which you will be living there. In contrast, if the at home cards are
sent with wedding announcements, your names are included, for example, Mr. and
Mrs. John Smith, followed underneath with the address and date of your arrival
there.
Bride's Name
If the bride chooses to keep her maiden name, at home cards sent with the
announcements are a great way to inform people of her decision. In this case,
the bride's name would appear on the top line centered on the card, and the
groom's on the second line. Then the address and date would appear underneath.
All of this information may be centered on the card or it may be split with the
names in the center and the address and date each occupying opposite corners of
the card, below the names.
