So you have chosen to have a smaller ceremony followed by a larger reception and will need to invite a subset of the full reception guest list to the ceremony. Ceremony cards serve just this function.

Style

Ceremony cards may mirror the invitation to the reception, although they do not need to, or, if the group is very small, may be handwritten. It is your choice. Ceremony cards are included in the mailing with the reception invitation to those individuals invited to both.

Wording

The wording of the ceremony card may mirror that of a typical wedding invitation, or it may be less formal and simply state the following:

Licensed & Registered with the City of New York To Perform All Marriages, Civil & Religious
