Wording Your Reply Cards

Are you coming?

Reply Card Form

Sample wording for a reply card form is as follows:

M___________________ will __________ attend.

The favour of a reply is requested

by May 31, 1999.

You should be sure to include a stamped, return-addressed, envelope for your guests' convenience.

Handwritten Responses

If you prefer your guests to send a handwritten response rather than using a form, you have two similar options. If your actual invitation includes information on the reception, you simply state, "The favour of a reply is requested." in the lower left corner of the invitation, assuming the responses are sent to those individuals indicated as hosts on the invitation. If someone else will be receiving the responses, you may want to include a response card that simply states, "The favour of a reply is requested," and indicate the address and to whom the response should be sent. If you are including reception cards in your invitation packet, you would use the same model as for the previous invitation example, but print the request, name and address on the reception card.
