Specializing In Memorable Traditional & Custom Wedding Ceremonies

Your Wedding Program
Many couples today prepare a wedding program to help guests follow along with
the ceremony as well as to identify to the guests, the members of the wedding
party, family members, and anyone else who may have played a big role in the
wedding preparation.

In general, the program should include the following:
- Descriptive wording for the front page. Examples are:
- The Wedding Ceremony of ...
- The Sacrament of Holy Matrimony Uniting ...
- The Celebration and Blessing of the Marriage Uniting ...
- The Marriage Celebration of ...
- The Religious Ceremony Uniting in Marriage ...
- Order of service to outline the individual segments. Varies from service
to service:
- prelude
- processional
- solo
- invocation
- scripture reading
- marriage ceremony
- lighting of the unity candle
- benediction
- recessional
- Worship notations for the guests:
- Explanation of customs and description of any special symbolism on altar
- Words and sources for readings
- Titles of music selections (and lyrics for those sung by guests as well)
- Translations, if appropriate
- Names of the wedding party, parents and hosts (if different from parents)
- Married names of bride and groom and their future address and phone number
- Special messages from the bride and groom
- thank you to hosts
- thank you to all guests for sharing in the day
- mention of deceased relatives
- Directions to reception
- Optional: Include a little saying from each person in the wedding party
about the couple
- Optional: "We respectfully request no flash photos be taken during this
religious ceremony."
- Optional: Story of how couple met or got engaged, possibly an engagement

Covers
There are many options for the cover of your program. Some couples put
pictures of themselves as young children on the front; others might include a
recent photo of them together. You may also find covers at your local religious
supply store, at your clergy/church office, or a copy center. I've seen lots of very creative covers that couples have created on their own using their home computers and printers, with specialty papers they purchased from a local vendor.
