Specializing In Memorable Traditional & Custom Wedding Ceremonies

The Recessional
It's official now!!! You are husband and wife and it's time to celebrate with
your family and friends! As the finale to the wedding ceremony, the bride and
groom traditionally lead the recessional out of the ceremony site and on to the
celebration. While some of the wedding party may have walked in the processional
alone, during the recessional, everyone generally pairs up.
Christian
The traditional recessional for the Christian wedding is as follows:
- Bride and Groom
- Flower Girl and Ring Bearer
- Maid of Honor and Best Man
- Bridesmaids paired with Groomsmen
- Bride's Parents
- Groom's Parents
The women in the recessional are on the men's right hand side.
Jewish
The traditional recessional for the Jewish wedding is as follows:
- Bride and Groom
- Bride's Parents
- Groom's Parents
- Ring Bearer and Flower Girl
- Best Man and Maid of Honor
- Groomsmen paired with Bridesmaids
The women in the recessional are on the men's left hand side. The
rabbi and/or cantor may follow at the end of the recessional.
